Compliant Passport Photo

Does the Bangladesh e-passport application need a photo upload? No

No. The Bangladesh e-passport online application at epassport.gov.bd does not ask you to upload a photo, and official mission guidance states that attaching photos or attested documents is not required. Your photograph, fingerprints and signature are captured live at your enrollment appointment, at a passport office in Bangladesh or a Bangladeshi mission abroad. Old guides showing glued or stapled photos describe the discontinued MRP process, not the e-passport.

How the e-passport process actually works

You complete the application online, print the summary, and book or attend enrollment. At enrollment the office takes your photo against their own backdrop, captures fingerprints, and takes your signature digitally. Because the photo is captured live, there is no file to prepare, no background to arrange, and no photo rejection risk at the application stage.

Where photos still matter for Bangladeshi applicants

Visa applications to other countries still need compliant photos: a US visa needs the 600 x 600 digital photo, Schengen posts want 35 x 45 mm, and Gulf-state portals have their own file limits. If your next step after the passport is a visa, our free checker measures your photo against the destination country's official spec before you submit anything.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to attach photos to the Bangladesh e-passport form?

No. Official guidance states photos and attested documents are not required with the e-passport application; biometrics are captured at enrollment.

What should I bring to e-passport enrollment?

The printed application summary, your national ID or birth registration, previous passport if any, and fee payment proof, per your enrollment office's checklist. The photo happens there.

My old passport guide says two attested photos. Is it wrong?

It describes the old MRP process. The e-passport replaced glued photos with live biometric capture.
